@Bears Bob here is a safe place to post your DHGate special. Nobody will flame it as long as you tell it how it is, you know it’s far from the best rep, but you were testing the waters and love it. If you search around you should find my $5 Nomos
$5 Nomos!!! Come on lol.

☝🏻One of my favorites too, but I won’t pass up an opportunity to mooch some Ardbeg also.
Hmmm add some Talisker and we are set.
I found a great cheap blended scotch burner for every day drink. It is called Islay Mist. 8yr and the great thing about it is it is blended with Laphroaig..... $33 cad and I can drink as much camp fire smoke as I want.

Thanks Nanuq. I do love scotch and cigars, but the watches are the real reason I am here. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Great clip, MOAB.
I had a bunch of friends in the early 80s, they had a group (I'll mercifully withhold their name) and they were getting hot, and they were touring with Van Halen and opening for them. They were playing a side gig one night out on the road and doing pretty good, and this group of guys sitting at a table seemed to really be enjoying the show. So at intermission they bought beers for the band and the band played on.
This went on for a couple more sets, so the guys in the group thought they'd go out and mingle with the audience, and sat with the guys buying beers. They talked music for awhile and went to play another set.
Next break, they came back out to sit with the guys in the audience some more, and were really laying it on thick... "yeah we're touring opening for VH, things are looking good, we'll probably score a recording contract out of this... blah blah blah."
The guys buying beers seemed to understand the whole scene with managers and contracts and recording, so my buddies asked them "you guys seem to know a lot about our industry. Do you do music too?" and of course the guys in the audience said "yeah... we've had some experience"
So my friends stepped right in it. "What's your group?"
"Chicago"
They were bragging all night to Peter Cetera, Terry Kath and the Chicago band.
Cool story bro.. hahah I could not resist that.
I actually did like the story thou.
My Mother drove me nuts in the 70's as I was growing up, I am 47 now. She used to play Chicago and Blood, Sweat and Tears all the time. I did not understand why they had a horn section in a "Rock Band.'
Fast Forward to last Summer. Chicago was touring so I had to bring my 15yr old Daughter with me to see the act. She is an old soul and loves the music. Needless to say, I shed a tear for my long gone Mom, hugged my Daughter and Wife, and enjoyed every note. Great show and incredible band.
Thanks for the memories MOAB. Got me a bit moist around my Eye holes for some reason.

I think MOAB prefers Laphroaig, just don't tell the other Mods it's in the cabinet... someone nicked the key and the levels are all dropping precipitously.
I love Laphroaig!! I usually buy a cheap blend for "Everyday use." The cheaper blend is in fact a blend that includes Laphroaig at a fraction of the price, A Laphroaig rep if you will LOL. It is called Islay mist 8yr. I mean you can't go wrong with 8 year, Why wait for it to reach 12 or 18....
And hey! who doesn't like em young....A step to far maybe?

YES!!! Fellow Canucks, I am in Toronto.
I have 1 sub par rep and a couple more on the way. I bought them from a few places that are not known for quality. I originally got the first for a mod project but after wearing it. I do not want to mess it up lol.
I am planning on grabbing a rolex or tudor from trusty or puretime soon.

You do realize of course, that all new members are expected to cough up a nice single malt for the Mods/Admin staff liquor cabinet?
Hmmm I guess my reputation precedes me. i have been known to enjoy a dram or two.
I usually have a cheaper blend for everyday use, that's right. EVERYDAY USE!! My Singles are more for those times when a good balled up cry in the shower just won't do.

Hi there. I am new as well. Hope to talk shop with you a bit more over the following days/months.

Thanks all. I hope my weird sense of humor does not offend anyone. I try to tread lightly....😉

Hi all.
It was not long ago that I would have looked down on reps. After handling one I was in awe. I currently own a crap rep I was intending to mod. I have a few more reps incoming but nothing that I am sure is a knock out in any means.
I am here because a fellow watch enthusiast mentioned this site and I am gearing up to make a bigger rep purchase.
Thanks for having me. I look forward to chatting it up with you wonderful people.
