  1. I have a small place in Green Lake, Wisconsin. More of a place to sleep and enjoy the boat/fishing/people, rather than "The Big Summer Cottage". 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, one very large porch on about 45 minutes worth of lawn cutting property with some willows around. If you look very closely underneath, I believe the axles are still there :p.

    Gotta find pics.....

  2. Now, don't kill me, I am Mercedes girl through and through. But I do believe BMW make a more beautiful red. Fire engine red, rather than the Merc's candy apple red (a hint of white and orange in it).

Red? Oh, FAVORITE red. That would be my "wonder what I have to fix this season" car:

if we are showing off cars, id like to add my little beauty.

A classic Ford fan. Nice to meet you. Mine is just a standard 289V8 nuts and bolts resto (OK OK I'll stop with the "Car Forum" pics, I know it's a Watch forum :p )

  3. Pretty convertible. Probably a second-hand Mercedes one.

I have a couple of cars.....

Best advice I could give you is to not listen to ANYONE about their choice in cars. Trust me when I say that you will not be buying it for them, but for you (If you are buying for others I'll email my address and preferences :)). When you decide on a model you like, then ask about it specifically. They may give out a "that year stinks! Buy this one." "This model in the GT version is much better" and you can get real information about the car YOU are going to buy.

The Mercedes are nice. You mentioned used. Going for a classic or recent? This was always a favorite of mine:

Good luck with whatever you decide and POST THOSE PICS!

  4. TTK probably sold you yet another bad watch (:lol: )

They are commonly found that way. I significantly decreased the noise by opening up the caseback and using fine litheum grease on the rotor bearings. It was simple and solved 90% of the sound. I understand that a 100% fix involves a 44mm PAM gasket, but I have not done this.

Good Luck! I love mine :)

  5. Sorry, but my newbish skills haven't been able to search/find how to do this.

I have a Rolex SS band that, like the three bears, is too loose or too tight when I adjust the links. I see that in the clasp there are numerous holes. Is this for some fine adjustment? If so, does anyone have a primer on adjusting it? If not, could you let me know what the heck the holes are for. I guess I could work out and get those Popeye arms.......nah

    Thanx in advance

  6. The FM hour hands work in such an interesting way, switching back and forth across the face, that it is a real pleasure to own.

Sorry if this wasn't clear. Yes, the hour hand flips to the appropriate number/innappropriate place on the dial. This occurs at the top of the hour and is lightning fast. The watch face numbers are placed in such a way that your watch will look like it is incorrect from a distance, thus giving onlookers a second stare. As in the gen, it will look correct through the 0100/0400/0700/1000 hours because of number placement.

Or to sum it up, YES, the hours ARE crazy ;)

  7. This thread has been on my Favorites drop down list for quite a while. I can't thank you enough.

Two watches that I have purchased in the <$150USD range and just love are the Vacheron Constantin Jubilee 1775 and the Franck Muller Crazy Hours. Both are rather good reps (No, not nitpicking Submariner "OMG, just LOOK at those CG's!" quality, but c'mon) and have some unique features. The VC has working dials including a reserve and makes a great dress watch. It is available in SS/YG/RG I believe. The FM hour hands work in such an interesting way, switching back and forth across the face, that it is a real pleasure to own. It comes in multiple guises for your color needs.

    Hope this helps ;)
