  1. Hahah, I just checked. That watch is 50mm, SQUARE. No way for me. I can't even rock the 46mm B&R. I have to work with the 42mm.
  2. It's not available anymore. If you can find a used one, they go for around $700-800. The gen model of the 005 doesn't have a display back either. There isn't a PVD gen version of the 005 btw. That is a fantasy watch. Technically, there is a 195 which has the same dial as in the 005 but in a PVD case. It also has a solid back but has special edition engravings. Davidsen has a really nice 195. I'd go with Davidsen if you want gen looking PVD. No gen PVD PAMs have display backs. Talk to Angus/Puretime. He currently has the best 111E (same as G really). It already has a thick crown and high canon pin. It comes with a display back. You really don't have to do anything to it. Hope this helps.
  3. Seriously, that looks really good. I'd be happy with that dial. It looks like maybe dirty water leaked in at one point and stained the dial. It looks vintage.
  4. Not to pour salt in the wound, but I did post back at the end of Oct. about this watch: "I'm looking at the 2007/08 catalog right now and this exact watch is on page 40. Well, mostly exact. It seems the black dial with AUTOMATIC only comes in a SS/Plat/WG/something silver case. The black dial in the gold case has the word CHRONOMETER instead. The rest of the dial is like the gen except for this wording." You probably didn't see the thread. Besides the wording, it's a great watch. The people that know Mont Blanc watches are probably even less than those that know Panerai. Most people think the watch writes since it's a Mont Blanc.
  5. I can't tell if you are kidding or not That IS a datewheel. I'm pretty sure you were kidding. Or not. Yes, you were. Hmm, or ...
  6. How about this advice? Get a Ti PAM now (PAM 177) because they aren't making any more. Buy the 112 later when they'll still have them. If you get the 112 now, you'll end up wanting the 177 anyways later when they are going to be much harder (and more expensive) to find.
  7. You can still find 177s. Talk to TWP. He has a few. The 111(stainless) and 177(Ti) are classic choices for models with seconds hands. The 112(stainless) and 176(Ti) are classic base models. You can't have just one PAM so start with one of those and you'll add the others eventually
  8. I've been meaning to do this but the holidays have sucked the time away from me. Perhaps in Jan you'll see something from me ...
  9. Unless we get pics, I have a feeling he was playing with us ...
  10. Mine just got delivered. Wow, what a catalog and DVD.
  11. You guys realize that lello's post is a month old?
  12. His store is not ready for customers yet. Email him direct to order from him.
  13. How about this? DSN PAM 218A on a Europelli black baseball with black stitching:
  14. I think it's more of an issue with the threads stripping on the crown after you wind it. The more it gets wound, the more you screw in the crown, the more likely the threads will strip. I don't have one but I've also been told the main cause is that the metal is soft and if you just tighten it you run the risk of cross threading it and that's why it strips. If you turn the crown toward you until the first thread clicks into place, you can then screw it away from you and won't cross thread it. Hope this makes sense.
  15. Yup, they are. I'm thinking of a 055 or a 116. I have a recent offer for a 116 at $4400. The 55 is higher than that.
  16. I'd send it back. That stuff would drive me crazy.
  17. I really like the 055/116. I'm actually thinking of buying one as my first gen PAM. How is the color of the numbers? Is it white or more greenish?
  18. I'd buy one of those. Maybe the SS or PVD with numbers or dots. I wouldn't buy the gold, however.
  19. Don't take this the wrong way but I'm not sure what you were trying to say. I'm interested in learning about these dials. Can you repost and clarify? It sounds like maybe English is a second language and we are running into a communication issue.
