  1. Make sure you read this part from the OP: "...as you can see the tachymetre markings around the inner bezel came off. I didn't realize they were part of the case and not part of the dial, so when I put it in the chemical bath, the oxiclean stripped it right off. Now it's less accurate to the original..."
  2. I was told by the boutique in BH that the B series was a transitional series from non-AR to using AR. I was researching the 036B. Officially, they said AR started with the C series but unofficially you can find examples of various models with AR in a B series.
  3. I'm swapping out my non-swan neck swiss movement from a 172 to put in a proper swan neck as per the gen. The person doing the work has offered to buy the movement but I need to come up with a fair price. I have no idea what is fair. What do you guys think is fair for an E bridged non-SN swiss movement?
  4. This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. (If you don't know the background, here it is. Jimmy Kimmel has a talk show and as a joke always says "And apologies to our next guest Matt Damon, we're out of time for today" even if he's not scheduled to be on the show. Kimmel and Damon are friends and Kimmel even went so far as to actually have Damon on his show just to tell him "Sorry Matt, we are out of time". Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel are dating so she made this for him as a joke.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnVJZkDuVBM
  5. Use springbars. River sells them. They look exactly like PAM screw bars when installed but work like a normal springbar you'd find on other watches. Lots of people use them on reps with stripped threads.
  6. I'm still not sure about the CG, but this dial/color combo looks hot. I might buy that if it was repped.
  7. It seems a common problem with the explorers is a bezel that has been installed crooked. I have one on mine and now need to find someone to fix it.
  8. Did you ask them if they can get them? There was only one 212 being made recently any more and I've heard rumors that it isn't available.
  9. I have a Daytona I purchased from Andrew/Josh and it came with a leather alligator strap. I'd like to put it on a bracelet but when I took the strap off, I noticed the head has two extra shelf like parts that won't allow the bracelet to go on. Did they make these watch heads specific to the strap they sold them with? If not, is there an easy way to remove these and put on the bracelet? Daytona head that comes with strap: Daytona head that comes with bracelet: Any help is much appreciated.
  10. I always find it funny when people say "Not to threadjack this ... " and then totally threadjack it. I don't mind as I just wanted to post the pic. If you PM him, he'll probably see your question. He might not see it in here fyi.
  11. Did you try to reload? It works randomly for me. I think their hosting company has a broken front end web server. I don't think the site is actually being suspended.
  12. What is that watch? I don't think it's a Black Monster. This is a Black Monster:
  13. Well, The Zigmeister told me he was going to take the existing crystal with AR and grind off the AR. I think that's what he ended up doing but I can't tell this from a new crystal. There are no marks at all. As for the text, yes, he modified the L SWISS L under the 6. He microscopically it seems covered up the lower part of the L and added a bar to the top of what was left to make it a T. As for the lume, I didn't have it lumed. I like the uncharged look on the wrist of the numbers. They have a off-white yellowish look. The gen version of this watch is 10 years old now so I didn't want it to glow like it was brand new either. The hands came superlumed so I might deal with that later. I'd like to fix the CG lever pin but it doesn't seem to come out very easily on this model so I didn't mess with it.
  14. Vacuum is my goto guy for all my work but for my 036 I used The Zigmeister who can be found here on RWG. My PAM 036 was the one that Ruby/Josh sold with the thick crown and tall canon pin out of the box. It came with thick purple AR and L SWISS L on the dial. The genuine 036 has no AR and should say T SWISS T. The Zigmeister said he would be able to perform the work. I think it turned out great.
