Yes the strap on the base is a BOB antique prototype but now the watch is on the way to Finepics and when it will return a nice metta strap will wait for it here
First of all Drew is the KINDEST person out there.. As you said cannot recommend him enough...
How you like the broadband look? On the 212 he advertised it on his website didn't looked good.. In your Arktos is better..
Is probably the different look than what we are used I guess...
Today among other things I have received this black leather case (not real leather probably) from New York (www.panatime.com)
It is very nice for traveling if I want to carry SOME of my Pams and SOME of my straps.
Of course the HUGE GPF buckles from BOB they don't exactlly 'fit' but there's no problem.
Enjoy
Personally I don't have the leather to produce, but the guy who has the leather he said he has started negotiating the production in Germany. If everything works well I will buy wholesale some of the straps for re-sale. (of course the straps will have no buckle or just plain buckle-NO LOGO BUCKLE definately)
It is a strange situation with this strap...
1st the buckle was acquired from a trade I made ( my own CF buffalo strap for david's rep logo buckle with MX style strap)
2nd the leather was acquired from a guy who bought from me on ebay some Panerai tubes. We started exchanging emails and told me he had in his possession a big quantity of the leather and he has send me a sample.
the sample, with the buckle went to Aaron for a custom made job for only 40$.
So at the end i guess the only money i tranfered from pp is the 40$ to Aaron and the 3$ pound postage.
THAT's why for me this strap is my ultimate project.. because considering the DONs sale (200$ with normal buckle) I guess the market price of my strap is around 300$
You haven't missed it.. but anyway you wouldn;t liked the reaction...
Most people INCLUDING me believe that this is the worst Panerai. The 8days lever is UGLY...
