Well the normal crowd congratulating him for a lovely watch and they all wanted to have one
Asad should have posted Dsn's email with the post
They were though 2-3 Pstis (same ones who are lurking around here anonymously) who understood it was a rep (and not even a decent one) and that's the point I went to bed and had sweet dreams
Well I visited yesterday Psti forum and have seen asad posting that he traded like 6 Omegas for a PVD 9 Panerai and caused some controversy
I have to be honest that the watch from the photos didn't looked like a gen to me but I think that for a member with 2 gen Pams and member of our forums wouldn't be difficult to understand the real deal.
Unless it is another case like we have seen in the past that a rep owner thinks he has the 100% perfect rep and that he can fool the world.
I don't say that this is the case here but makes me wonder why the post has been deleted while I was in bed
Maybe asad himself can shed some light or some of you US members who have seen the psot just before been deleted.
Thanks Andy.. THey are both indeed very soft.
Since the leather was very soft and thick I decided to use a different bit harder and thinner leather for backing to balance the thickness/softness.
I guess you know that working with a very soft leather is a pain in the @
Finished two black straps yesterday with my new hides I got on my last trip.. I have to say that both straps have the exact look I wanted to achieve on my watches.
The shrunk on the Ferrari has a contemporary look with that texture and very close to the OEM Ferrari strap. I decided to put Black stitching because I want to wear it with my 112 as well.
The one on my Cali dial is LONG wrap around with tail and it has copper stitching like the PAV98 strap. The colour of the stitching matches perfectly the copper ring around the numbers
I am making today another one like this in 24/24 same specs as the PAV98 (same colour only with better leather than the PAV )
Well sometimes in watches like this the seller (if it is indeed a franken) knows probably very few for specificatins for the watch unless he has some paperwork from the company to certify the authenticity of the piece.
The seller may look legitimate sometimes but there are cases where he has been tricked and he honestly believes he had a bargain and can make serious money
I agree that it is not 100% definitive that it is a gen.. But my gut feeling says it is.
FOUND IT!!
And I knew I have seen a vintage like this before..
Here are 3 genuine Vintage Kampfs. The one on the right looks has more open 6 & 9 liek the one in the auction.
Yes 6 & 9 are more open than usual but they have the correct thickness. DSN's are double the thickness and very wrong.
Also the case from the ebay photos look ok and not modern style rep. Hands look ok, crystal looks ok..
Again I really don't know but my feelings say it is gen or this collector has done a MAGNIFICENT job.
Don't know Jay.. For me it doesn't even look remotely close to Dsn's dial hence fake.
The crown is aftermarket but it is not strange for a watch that old to have an aftermarket crown.
I think it is gen unless you know something more about it Jay
Kevin although they are L dials and less desirable being so rare makes their value quite high. If a 22/26 L dial has around 800 euros I guess the 36 L dial is around double that because of the rarity.
