  1. Probably the biggest factor in price between the two is that the swiss 7750 movement is pretty expensive. That alone would make for a big jump in price over the usual $100-200 difference in models that use a 2824 or 2836 instead of an asian 21J. Take a look around online at the prices of gen swiss 7750 and 7753 movements and you'll see what I mean.

  2. Wow congrats Stephane that 196 is truly a work of art. My 196 was actually my first PAM. This is a truly impressive piece. Just out of curiousity how do you tell if you have the old case? Not sure which one mine is since I bought it from a member.

@kruzer Wow if you weren't really in the market to sell such a beauty but did just because a fellow member had such a interest in these then kudos to you. That's what this hobby should be about enjoying a piece but being willing to pass it along at some point. I was lucky enough to get both an old factory Seawolf and Chrono Avenger and in both cases I'm sure it was because the seller simply wanted them to go to someone who was going to cherish them and get excited about wearing them. Needless to say they both get quite a bit of wristime.

I'd love to do a 188 or 196 project at some point.

  3. Ok...I'm going to throw out a crazy suggestion...

How about a run of Baume & Mercier Riviera XXL date wheels? With a DW mod and AR-treatment, this watch could be 99.9999% to gen...I have two of these watches and would love to perform this mod.

    Your thoughts?

Hey DuDro you know I've looked at the B&M's a few times and they are starting to grow on me. Are they this close to gen? Might have to give one some thought. Especially if a DW is done at some point. Which ones do you have?

  4. Not big at all,IMO....not thick either, good fit....an everyday wear watch.....fit would be the same as the Navi.

Compared to my SA,the BCE seems small......

Come on Dave compared to a SA just about everything seems small except I guess another SA or a big Bentley. Even my Fiddy seems a bit small (at least height wise) compared to those two.

@piratedzeus The BCE is just about the right size for an everyday watch. Not too tall. Not too wide. Mine get quite a bit of wrist time. I have about a 7 1/4" wrist and it's a perfect fit for me.

  5. it looks fantastic!!!

this is the latest new high quality rubber strap that both Andrew & Josh sells right???

does it really do as it is claimed???

    really "dust repellent'???

I'm curious about this as well. Looks great BTW. I have a gen dial and hands on order for mine as well.

  6. i highly recommend the BOB tan sportivo on brushed thumbnail buckle (passes for a ti buckle)

deltahoe I like how that tan sportivo looks on yours. Wonder how it would look on a white dial? I currently have a gen divers strap on my white dial but now I have a black dial avenger on the way and am thinking of swapping the divers strap to that and maybe putting a leather strap on the white one.

  7. Hopefully Davidsen may get some Asian swan necks in at some point though it looks like even that is delayed. He has several things I'd like to buy if only he had the swan necks in stock. As for the 217 you might pick one up used or look to some other dealers to find one and then get one modded. I grabbed one that popped up last week with a swiss movement. You may have to go outside of the recommended dealers to find someone that has it in stock. Post a WTB as well. Good luck.
