  1. bwhitesox, You should be able to push down on the brass center bit with your nail and it should spring back up. Regards, Rob
  2. I wish this guy is selling what he says he is selling, but i doubt it. What do the movement experts have to say about it? Rob http://www.ioffer.com/i/12508269?store=1
  3. Yes Thats where I was researching and it got me thinking that the base models use the 6497. But it also states that the base 6497 runs at 21,600 VPH which as far as i know would mean the OP I is a 6497-2 ? Still confused !! Rob
  4. Is the OP I Movement used in the Luminor Base models a 6497 or a 6497-2 ? I cant find a definitive answer to this. Cheers, Rob
  5. This is a photo of a supposed 6497-2 I found in another thread of a guy trying to organise a group buy. If it is a ETA 6497-2 then it looks like it can swap the decorations right over. What do you think? Can we get a photo of the movement Tourby to compare? To me personally no matter how good a rep on the outside its never going to be complete with out a gen spec movement and this could be the finishing touch. If they end up lookinf like the pic then im in for a few. Rob
  6. What is the difference between the 6497-2 and the 6497-1 movements? Rob
  7. Interesting Archibald, Could you share some pictures of the work your guy has done? Or have you had any gen auto crowns installed on auto reps your self that you could share the results? I really would like to get this done to my 027/028 Rob
  8. Nice watch kruzer, Cant wait to get mine back from similar mods to. Do you think this would be possible? I
  9. Would it be possible to get some pics of rep auto crowns and the crown tube to get a better idea on what mods are needed? Rob
  10. Good news, After fitting is it water tight or is it just a means to get the crown sitting in the tube? In other words does it sit nice and tight like a Gen? On another note I hope The Zigmeister is still doing work when I get my watch back from SSsurfer. I need a lume and Gen crown install at least, I may still swap to a 028. Rob
  11. Any info on installing a Gen Auto crown into an Auto Pam? I take it will not fit in the rep crown tubes??? Are there any after market crown tubes that will work? Any info appreciated on this topic. Regards, Rob
  12. Ah ok, Thanks for that, I dont know if you have read my posts on what I may do or not but I have an 028 dial on the way and I may decide to PVD my 027 and replace the dial with the 028 in the hopes of getting a more accurate pam 028, The non recessed dial in the 027 bothers me a little. Would this make an accurate 028 like you own? Rob
  13. Excellent, Keep us updated as time nears, I would like some cases PVD'd Rob
  14. Is the PVD coating mentioned in this thread still going? If it is can it be done to a polished stainless steel case and still look gen ? Rob
