Red lume might look cool in on a PVD pam...

I bought one of those diamond testers off ebay and they work great for telling sapphire from mineral. It turns out a few of the watches I was told were sapphire were not but davidsenjpn's replacement sapphire crystal for the fiddy is sapphire as he claims.

I have, he was fine to deal with and has been very good with after sales communication.

I never wear a watch while working out in the gym however when I hike, snowboard, moutainbike, etc... I wear whatever watch I have on at the time.

Nice project and great post.
Here is a video showing construction for anyone interested it's from strapmasters :

he is using two needles...

He needs to press the crystal out of the bezel and then press the new one in it's place.

How do you get in touch with Homer for these?
-
Yes it can be done, however, you may need to mod the case and make a new dial but it can be done.
I was going to do one as well, I had the correct Rolex movement and was going to make an accurate as possible custom 6152-1 out of a 1:1 127 case. I contacted the guy on paneristi that did this project with an RXW. It is doable but expensive.
Price list:
Custom made tritium dial: 200 Euro
phosphor-treatment of existing hands: 50 Euro (tritium)
I forget how much to make the hands if needed
acrylic glass: 150 Euro
steel back: 150 Euro (cheaper from Watchmaster)
modification work: 150 Euro
plus shipping and paypal fees
not to mention the $950 I paid for the pocket watch and $300 for the 127...
I ended up selling the pocket watch to a guy on paneristi and never did the project but it was and is very doable if you want to spend the cash.

i didnt have to do that on my fiddy!
I thought I read somewhere that the newer 127s have a different case, but I can't confirm, so the movement may come out the back on these. The first 1:1 design had to come out the front, you remove the bezel/crystal and then remove the screws and it will push out the top.

I have 3, 2 for well over a year and one is new (187), they all run fine. However, to be fair I rarely run the Chronos because the need never arises. So my results may not be helpful in gauging if the movement is reliable or not.

The rep rubber strap is very nice, I have both rep and real and the rep looks almost perfect, the feel of it isn't the same but the look is...
I doubt we'll see the 7753 version soon but who knows, that would be killer and a must buy if it were of the same quality of the current 187. If Eddie sells at a reasonable price I may get another just for spare parts.
-
If the 202 has the same quality the 187 has I'd buy one in a sec.

Strapmasters sells em @ $275:

They are made by the OEM strap manf for panerai until 1997, strapmasters is the only US distributor.

Do either of you guys make one a strap like the Strapmasters Marina Militare Vintage Calf cus I'd jump at a 26/26 in a similar leather? I'm considering ordering another one from them and would rather give you guys the money if available.
-
Yep XaMas it is. I love their straps, huge buckle, thick leather and soft, only downside is price.
On a side note I bought it for my fiddy but I like their 26/24 better on the 187 than the 127, the fiddy looks better with a vintage 26/26 IMHO. The 187 looks so much better with a tapered strap maybe due to it's more modern looks...
