  1. Hi all,

going on a Mediterranean cruise next week with a stop planned in Florence. I would love to show off my gen 104 at the Boutique Officine Panerai, but the wife might feel we are losing valuable visiting time. Is the stop at the Boutique really worth it even if it means to have to endure the bad mood of the wife for the rest of the day (or cruise?) or is it just like any other jewellery?

    Thanks for your comments

  2. Hi Pafre,

Thanks for shots. I really love this watch and will mod this to the max. Was thinking of swapping movts with an ETA 7750 from Ajoes.

    Thots on this guys?

Good move, mine has an ajoes' ETA7750 inside. I guess mine is about as modded as it can be with the ETA, the gen dial and the lume.

  3. Thanks everyone for the nice words. I'll try to add better individual pictures shortly. I have to say that part of the funds came from selling some of my other watches. There is still the 195 that I'm interested in, but it will have to wait ;)

@hooky: got the 192 from a member here

@andy: thanks, got it just in time like it was supposed to. The watch is great and the lume is awesome

@dadog: there is a least 1 strap I won't change, the 111 has a gen Panerai strap on it.

  4. i had an HBB like this.. the "noisy" means not normal

it's a loud whirring sound like a jet's about to take off on your wrist, lol

    send it back, i did..

I find my 21.6k to be noisier than my 28.8k. With one good shake, the 21.6k will whirl more than the 28.8k, thus making more noise. Since some HBB now are equipped with 21.6k, it migth be the problem. Chopard also had 21.6k before newest version.

  5. I believe the first version without AR is still available from some dealers. Got a quote a couple of weeks ago from Hontwatch at RWI for both the old and new version. Very good deal on the old version (230$ shipped EMS to Canada if I remember). He can even send pictures of the watch with your name on a tag, so no drop shipping, but don't know if he does QC. I did order an HBB from him last month and was very pleased. Didn't buy the 3717 as I went on a PAM extravaganza since.

  6. Yes, the sales threads are deleted when the seller requests the mods to do so. I too personally feel that this isn't a a good practice, but I do understand why it is done.

I didn't request the mods to delete my sale thread. I believe once it's tagged "sold", it gets automatically deleted.

  7. I noted that myself, so I will be interested to see the response. My guess was that the seller deleted the post himself. But, I really have no idea. I think the points you make are well taken.

Being both a seller and a buyer in the last week, I witness the same thing and I know I didn't delete my post. cdv, if you want pictures of the St-Exupery, I can send them to you. This is what happened when I bought namor's pam 192, the post was deleted within 20 minutes, so I didn't have time to save the pictures. I sent him a pm and he generously sent me the full size pictures by email.

But as to why it's deleted, I have no idea except maybe to free some place.

  8. There is a button inside the strap that needs to be pressed at the same time as the pis is pushed. There is some force that might be needed to push the pin. The button serves as a "lock" to the pin.

    Good luck

Don't own one, and sitting in a hotel right now, so I can't look at one either.

From memory isn't there a pin sticking out from the lugs, and it just has to be pressed out of place to get the strap off?

    I could be wrong...

  9. How long is the strap? I know you have to cut it but does anyone know how long it is. Is there room for adjustment? By that I mean my wrist expands in the summer and my "winter" size is too tight. Does that make any sense?

There is a small adjustment that can be made by installing the holes in the strap only on 2 of the pins in the buckle instead of all 4, this will allow you to expand the size of the strap a couple mm. It's not apparent and doesn't make the strap less solid. post-9379-1204317214_thumb.jpg
