  1. It seems like the screw in the middle of the rotor is a bit loose. When I turn the watch upside down I see that the rotor moves a bit up/down. Is this as easy as unscrewing the back and screwing in the rotor screw; if so how tight? I'm new to watch repair so any suggestions are welcome. I don't mind having to bring it in send it somewhere as I'm inexperienced. Thanks
  2. So I just recieved my double AR HBB (brushed ss bezel version) w/ the asian 7750 and I have a question... The rotor seems to almost feels loose when moving the wrist (the noise is not uniform if that makes any sense at all...). It also feels like it scrapes the sides a little bit (more than my 3717 at least). Also the rotor seems to "stick" in one place and needs a slight jolt (very very slight but gravity alone wont do it) to get it moving aorund again. Is this common for these or is this an issue with my rotor not being tight enough etc (I assume the rotor is custom made for this 7750 specifically)? BEAUTIFUL watch though! Sorry, no pictures while at work, but will try to get some tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
  3. I cant wind it, right (its the auto movement)? I do not have an auto watch winder but it is stil running in the am when i get up. Since I observe the issue intraday (between morning and night while active) that should dissolves any doubt its due to it not being wound at night, right? I will set it to the atomic clock online and then check and note observation serveral times a day and come up with a standard deviation and skew. Thanks
  4. Yeah I plan to. Im no watchsmith, so is there a more "preferrable" way to be off (IE to be either consitently fast or consitently slow or to be plus/minus a wide range and neither fast or slow specifically?) I assume its the former as that seems like something more regulatable. Is this something fixable in both situations that can be done for a reasonable sum? I plan on having this sent to one of our watchsmiths for both the gen d/d wheels as well as lume for the next AR run. Thanks a ton.
  5. Ive had my IWC 3717 for only about two days now. It appears its consitently +/- 15 seconds or more a day (not sure it its really directional yet (slow or fast) as its only been a few days; but will keep everyone posted on that). Also when the seconds are at around 30 is when the minute hand crosses the next minute line. Ive read a bunch on this movt (A7750 high beat) but havent heard this as a common complaint. I observed this by comparing the time on my work phone (which changes at the exact same time as my cell phone to check for consitency) and monitor it througout the workday. I am up and around a good bit throughout the day so its def being wound. Even from 10am ttoday it appears to be about 10 seconds different that it is now ar 4:32pm. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions or similar experience?
  6. Just landed at JFK. Nice!
  7. I got the tracking number 6 days ago and here is what usps.com says: -Foreign International Dispatch, January 29, 2008, 11:45 am, SHANGHAI EMS, CHINA PEOPLES REP -Origin Post is Preparing Shipment -Foreign Acceptance, January 28, 2008, 3:41 pm So I guess I recieve it w/o any updates.
  8. haha, can you tell its my first rep?
  9. Should I be worries? Tracking says that is left dispatch in Shanghai over 3 days ago with no update in the interim. Prob nothing to be worried about right?
  10. Hello, any experience with this courier www.ems.com.cn? My recent order was shipped by them. I have a few questions werent addressed on the site. If Im not at my apt do they leave a note and allow pickup and/or reschedule delivery? Im sure they do one and/or the other. Im in NYC and my building doesnt have a doorman so I dont think they would leave it on the doorstep even though its a nice area. Any other insight into this courier wouold be helpful. They havent updated the tracking in a few days so not sure if its real time. Thanks
  11. prob wont have the double seconds... i would really love to hear how good this pvd actually is. and if a non pvd version is expected. i cant imagine we wont have somre more of these given that the dial is unique to these models (far as i know).
  12. Does this mean that mor dopplechrono reps are comming? I'm sure there wold be interest but I know people would be skeptical of the PVD holding up. Unless I totally missed the release...
  13. Very true. Even at Tourneau the other day I seemed to know more about certain watches than the sales people. One actually ahd the nerve to argue about such a simple thing as the diameter of an Omega PO casing....
  14. Oh come on iceman... haha
  15. So, what type of movement is in the Davidsen Ultimate 111? Are you guys saying that the 6497s that are labeled ETA are swasian? I ask becasue Im about to pay $400 for one...
  16. Hmmm. you dont think they would put a nonfunctional second chrono hand? Im not sure its worth repping then.
  17. That would be prety awesome. They would obviously have the two chrono hands as well right? I didnt know that was a 46mm. Thats a fairly large watch, huh?
  18. NM I see the reps now.. was looking in the wrong place. Nice watch. Im now between that and the 3717. I dont see a black face rep though.
  19. Man.. that PVD version is absolutely beautiful. Wonder how well the ceramic would hold up though.. This may have to be a gift to myself in the future. The double chronos are amazing pieces.
  20. Is that a rep? I have seen gens with the black subdials but not with the silver. Ive been looking for these but couldnt find them. Beautiful watch!
  21. Can anyone comment on IWC reps that are comming down the pipeline? Excuse me if I mention any that are already rep'd but I couldnt find them... IWC- Pilot's Dopplechronograph - Ceramic PVD Version (http://www.essentialwatches.com/listing_detail.asp?brandID=16&classificationCount=9&itemID=15905) or on PVD versions for that matter.. hands down my fav IWC watch. Another Double Chrono: http://www.essentialwatches.com/listing_de...mp;itemID=10998 Not sure if anyone really knows in advance with these... but wishful thinking at least. Thanks in advance.
  22. I see the 111E from angus has the option for the asian movement. The swiss is worth the 100, right?
  23. How do you like the 21J movement? Since its in "take your pick of cheapo reps" im a bit hesitant to pay >200 for somethign with that in it. I love the look though. If there were an ETA version of that model I think I might be sold
