  1. i have this one. it's realy nice AR and CG! great quality much better than the usual cn reps. dial print seems like the fonts are off a bit.
  2. the threads on the crown are internal like the genuine. you have to press the crown toward the case to screw it down.
  3. i don't think it's an issue of wear and tear more an issue of noise. anyone try it yet?
  4. that's it! try it and post the result.....you will be shocked silent rotor........
  5. i love the rubber strap! i am dying to get this when it comes out. i'll take 2! and how about the casino royale version PO
  6. the seconds sweep@six is choppy at best. probably due to all the extra gears. the new 7750s are seeming to be much better than the old ones but even the swiss with running seconds@six have problems. just too much drag on the movement. that said....the watch is worth buying still
  7. The Zigmeister....am i insane?
  8. if you are worried try it on an asian 7750 that you do not wear much. i understand why it's scary! it works and has caused no problems at all for three years in some. still no noise, i pulled one apart to check everything inside out before i posted my tip. grease still in the bearing...no where else. high temperature grease is designed to stick in wheel bearings for many many years so no worries about it "dripping" just use a tiny bit at a time untill it's silent
  9. randy you need to get a job at tourneau......as a GM. you can spot all the reps a mile away. amazing...
  10. i'd like to know this too! i tried scraping out the old one but it's a solid epoxy like substance! i'm sure it's easy to fill with lume then varnish over the top but how do you get the old one out???
  11. i like the caseback....i don't like this one with a brushed finish.
  12. that's a really good rep! and you will be happy to know that my gen has no AR coating
  13. after i read the post about the 7750 rotor noise i figured i'd share my secret every 7750 i have the bearing is noisy noisy noisy gen or rep especially asian models. the simple cure is use a high temperature axle grease a tiny dab packed in the bearing makes it completely silent and winds just the same. i've done this for years and the grease always has stayed put and never leaked out into the movements. just be sure to use high tempereture grease and only a tiny bit untill it's silent. i can't see any reason it can cause harm as long as it stays put. the rotor is so heavy on these it makes no difference in rotating with the grease just not audible anymore and won't "freewheel" at 50,000 rpms like before and start vibrating the watch on your wrist:P try it......you will not be dissapionted
  14. no but i actually had to remove the balence wheel i dropped a movement clamp screw with the tweezers and it shot strait into the balence assy! no big deal though.
  15. i am really not a rolex guy but i am in love with the second from the bottom right in this picture mr. tanfo. what is it?
  16. by-tor it looks great i can't believe it was $95! i was wearing my gen today actually after it sat for a month with no love. what are the chances?
  17. some of you may have seen my "how do i remove the bezel on the smp chrono" post.... no one seemed to have the answer. i tried everything to get the bezel off even a bergeon bezel puller. the puller may have worked but it was too tight so i didn't want to break anything. the issue is the insert is misaligned and the bezel turns too freely and feels like a $5 watch not a gen omega. i ended up pulling the movement and popping out the crystal (crystal comes out and installs easy with your thumbs. no press needed) this gave me access to remove the bezel insert without damage. the glue is much stronger than previous SMP reps so i used extra care to remove it. i solved the loose turning bezel by installing an o-ring in the inner bezel portion between the bezel and the case under the insert which holds it in. i reglued the insert at the correct alignment and now it turns with a bit of resistance like the gen and has no slop in it. feels like a genuine bezel now alot more work than i figured it would be when i ordered the watch but well worth it in the end. also the other thing i learned doing this is that it's very easy to remove the crystal should one want to apply an AR coating.
  18. good one randy actually...i'd rather have one of your frankens, the rolex subs really are not very impressive watches for $5000. really. it's an overpriced $800 watch with a genius marketing plan. heck, rolex can make a quartz submariner and half the people that buy them won't know the difference and will still pay $5000 for one so they can have a $5000 watch yours on the other hand, are truly impressive! you built a 99% exact copy of the $5000-$10,000 watches from the best of the best sourced parts and probably only spent $800, what the watch "should" cost genuine, but doesn't. all the time and effort you put in to these means alot more than a watch any joe can walk into an AD and buy. even on an easy finance plan if they wanted to. i'd much rather have the pride of building my own. that's why i sold the thing
  19. ebay for sure. aftermarket bezels are almost always nicer then rep bezels.
  20. remember the GMT hand is a 24 hour rotation. that's where you may be confused.
  21. all hands set to 12:00 and "hacked" before removing and installed at 12:00 same as pulled off. may be the adjustment. it's fine. i tested it.
  22. the phoband strap is one of the best i've seen in awhile! great taste
  23. joshua has the correct case version.
  24. had this problem before...you have big hands! try putting the watch on upside down when going over your hand. more clearance this way.
