to mod the CGs i basically want a sharp U-shape on the inside right? don't touch the outside?

do you think a genuine crown which is smaller will make the CGs looks better? i'm mworried about screwing up the unreplacable case. they do look reppie!

the waterproofing i did today....not sure i have the nuts to mod the CGs but maybe i'll give it a shot. how bad do they look?

i know i never post about rolex. i'm more of a pam fan but i for some reason like this seadweller i have. i wear it to do yardwork, ride dirt bikes, the stuff you don't do with your best watch you know? it's an old TW best swiss model. i replaced the bracelet with a non-sel type. am i correct in thinking the era with holes in the case had hollow end links? anyway i like the look better. i ordered a new bezel insert form ebay ROLEX INSERT i'm hoping it fits as the mine is really scratched and the pearl looks like dump. i want to know some opinions how to make this look more accurate.....crown...crown gaurds...case thickness....ect. how does it look and what does it need? i'm a rolex rep newbie. i had a gen sub and from that i can tell this crown is too big but i don't know where to start. i don't care about lume as it's an older model and a gen this age wouldn't have great lume anymore anyways.

looks great! i'd replace the entire bezel with gen parts from ofrei and also replace the crown with genuine. then it will be........perfect? nice job on this one for sure.

true.....it's an experiment i think a really thick black genuine alligator with blue stitching on an omega clasp would be amazing! but i can't seem to find one anywhere........

i cut a 22mm blue shark strap to 20mm to have a wider strap and sportier look as this is a pretty beefy watch. i'm not sure if i like it or not. i know i can't stand the rep bracelet though because the screws and clasp so i thought i'd try this. love it or hate it?

i know nothing about rolex at all other than owning a genuine sub. i can tell rep right away because of the subdial spacing and the case looks funny.

mine is 2836 powered....thicker caseback....light ar i wish they would get a more solid feel in the crown/tube assembly, it's wobbly when in time setting position compared to my gen which feels beefy like the stem is 3mm thick! it's not but the way the crown hugs the tube it is way more solid. the AR is so heavy on the gen i doubt a rep will ever have it....i'd pay 100 extra for good lume and AR and 50 extra for a better crown/tube. that's just me though. and yes, i'd kill for a 22mm rubber strap even though this newest bracelet is 95% as good as gen. it's very very good. this newest one looks slightly better than mine caseback, dial, even mine is way way better than the 42mm 4th gen.

no problem...i'm assuming mine has no dial chips as well....i just looked under a loupe and cannot find any but i can't see where to look....where are the chips on yours?

the bumps on the case are not normal....mine does not have them.

should not be a problem....apply a little silicone grease to the oring and tighten it down good.

it's not that bad a deal for both really. they look nice but who knows what you will get at ebay anymore...

joshua is more trustworthy than the AD! you will get it....you have to learn to order and forget about it. it shows up as a surprise then from joshua to the US i have had orders take 4 days and the longest 2 weeks. always arrived, always .......

why not just swap the entire movement/dial/hands assemblies assuming it's eta noobmariner. instead of bothering with swapping datewheels and dials and all that jazz.....seems like a 10 minute job.

i'm trying to find a replacement for a vintage omega seamaster day-date. case 1660125. ofrei has no listed crystal for this case. it's plexiglass and domed. sides have 1.5mm rehaut and measures 31.47mm diameter. does anyone know if a standard generic sapphire or mineral domed crystal will fit? they basically do not list clearance to the dial. generic size closest is 31.5mm i was thinking to be safe try this one and heat the case and freeze the crystal to fit......any advice? the factory acrylic crystal scratches too easy and replacement seems very hard to find oem part.
