  1. What a brilliant insight into why Breitling services cost what they do! Considering how many people are involved. My Evo is due for service this year, would love to follow it to the service centre and watch it be serviced even if it was for 2 weeks. Thanks for posting the link.

  2. I don't know what movements are used in those reps, but here is an example of an ETA 2824-2. If your date is not rolling over at midnight, there is probably something wrong with the wheel. See RED arrow. That gear is driven by the hour wheel and is spring loaded to snap the date disc forward. It could be slipping, or damaged.

As for the other problem of the date not being able to be advanced manually, See BLUE arrow. That gear, when engaged advances the date disc manually. So two things come to mind.

1.) are you turning the crown the right way when trying to advance the date? Depending on the movement, you may have to turn the crown clockwise or counterclockwise.

2.) Maybe the wheel is missing.

Thanks for a detailed answer, I also have no tools and as the watch is on a winder I dont think it will affect me unless it powers down.

  3. The only major flaw in the big bangs that you cant correct is the way the rotor attaches to the movement, on the reps its teeth on the gens its like a key system. Type in 'Identifying a Hublot Replica' into google and the last picture shows what I m on about, nice of them to show us what to aim for. You are definatly better off with the ceramic bezel if you want it as close to gen as pos, the pvd is nice but is not as reflective as it should be.

  4. I really like the HBB, but i have a smaller wrist (16cm/6.3inch) so i think that the 44mm will look silly on my wrist. I've been looking for a replica of the 41mm HBB, but most people on this RWG claims that there is no copy of the smaller HBB.

The Apprentice collector "watchmark" describes the case diameter of the HBB as 41mm both on this forum (http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=57784) and on his web site (http://www.timesshop.net/Hublot_Big_Band_PVD_Aisa_7750_680.htm).

I sent him a question and he confirmed the size:

Can anyone confirm the size of this watch?

    Hi

I ve got 6 inch wrists as I m skinny but I wear my Big bang and EoDs with no problem, they look all the more impressive for my lack of girth.

But its what you feel comfortable with I guess.
