  1. 100% Dixie is general lee your grandfather? What kind of schitt is that?
  2. Every rep I have seen has rough spots on the outside edge of the engraved silver ring in the middle of the dial. If this ring is cleanly and evenly engraved then it is probaby gen.
  3. I am still waiting for the 24 to be perfected where it can be perfect with a bit of modification. But if we HAVE to have a new one, my pic would be .............
  4. I know for a FACT that JimmyFu cases will not fit a 29b and cannot be made to fit!!!!! They are made for the 6498 which do not have a large second and and date window. THe cases are too shallow and the second hand smacks into the date magnifyer. no matter what you do. I spent $300 for a full case that did not work. But I hae another project in the works for it.
  5. $600-$800
  6. No, bracelet of this vintage would only be $110 USD from Otto Frei. A complete hand set would be around $125 if you look around a bit. And also Watchco Au. has a complete set of pushers for $100 USD or go with these for $80 http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Omega-Speedma...1QQcmdZViewItem. Crystals are super cheap $20-$80 if you look around. I would contact Time Tech in Dallas, Talk to the owner Kevin. He was trained by Omega and is Omega's repair center for that part of the country. HE is so anal retentive about getting the watches perfect it is almost a pain in the ass to deal with because he WILL NOT cut corners, even if yo ask. BUT!!!! you will spot no problems or flaws when you get the watch back. You will pay $400 for a service for an 861 (Be glad, a 321 cal service is $800 minimum)
  7. Ah yes, Wifey's World. They both own pams....if you can look past her boobs for a second.
  8. Did the pliers mar the surface of the tube very badly?
  9. if it is already screwed take a tiny piece of scuff pad rub a tiny area of the crystal and see if it scratches.... If it does...............I would be pisssssed.
  10. I used a small vise called a panavise. I use it to hold the items that I am going to grind and polish. but I also use it, the press attachment and other homemade attachments to press crystals, bezels, and tubes into place. A great $40 investment....or two pieces of padded wood and a big vice with a large amount of being careful.
  11. Lord Vader your watch is ready.
  12. We had an equipment demo at the womens center (jokes galore here) and every salesman sans one had on a Rolex Datejust. I made a comment to each of them and even the one who had on a "lowly Omega semaster quartz) The fellow with the seamaster said he was new and the Rolex would be his first purchase upon making a large sale. It seems as though the watch is a measuring stick among this type of saleman as to how succesfull they are. It is a status symbol pure and simple for them. But I usually see high end watches ans sporting events around Dallas, Mavs, Cowboys, Rangers.
  13. One of my personal fav's.
  14. These are girlie? Personally love my 27 as my conceal carry. It is a bit of a pain to shoot with it's short grip but the extended clip does take car of that. Almost everyone on here will have a different opinion on fire arms. And and you can all argue as much as you want but no one is GOING TO CHANGE ANYONE ELSE'S OPINION on the matter. Guns are like watches to me in the fact than I can collect them, modifing them, playing with them (at a range). I enjoy the hobby and I enjoy hunting. You may think I am crazy or stupid for enjoying guns and hunting as a hobby (all be it a potentially leathal one) but some people think the hobby of collecting, moding and spending hundreds of dollars of FAKE watches is stupid too.......but you do it and enjoy it, as do I. Gun debates are too serious for this forum. If you don't like the post just keep on scrolling by as the power is in your mouse hand. Lord knows I don't keep reading posts that [censored] me off or bore me. But some of you enjoy a good debate and or argument, and if THAT is your hobby so be it. A "political playground" area on forums always bring forth good points of view and good arguments. I may not agree with most of them but I do have to give a nod to an opposing view that is argued quite well. Now on to drooling over watches.
  15. Ok, I have ordered a 195. I keep looking at the pics and drooling. But, the more I look at the crown gaurd the more I am thinking it is too large. The amount of space within the CG makes the crown look way small and the lever is wwwaaayyyy too far out from the case. (Everyone has their pet peeves and this one is mine) Can some onelook at their Davidsen PAM and compare the crowngaurd to one of their other dealer Panerai crowngaurds? I am think it will be possible for me to remove some material from the bottom of the cg (the area where the CG comes into contact with watchcase). But this will only be possilbe if this crown gaurd is a bit bigger than the others that are closer to gen. I will have to look at mine when it gets here to see how to do this without screwing up the PVD but I am pretty damn good with sandpaper/files/dremel/etc. and I think I may want to try this. Can some one eyeball their CG's and let me know if it is indeed bigger?
  16. look at the dial depth, that thing is real as hell.
  17. It shouldn't be too hard to sand down 1mm off of the dial if you are very very very careful.
  18. Could you see the base metal on the back of the marker? aren't the genuine white gold and glued to the dial without the little tabs that the fakes have?
  19. I dig on that 195!
  20. Insert music from the game show Jeorpardy here...
  21. This is what I think...... To whom do I send the pp to?
  22. That was one hell of a projec this guy had going. http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Project-Movement...1QQcmdZViewItem
  23. Thanks! If it is for a 44mm handwind then I can't use it. The Jimmy Fu is already a 44mm standard pannie. But if it for a 27 0r one of the GMT's then YAY!!!! I will take it off of your hands
  24. That doesn't make any sense. You can pp day or night. The ONLY time I have every said I want it but have to hold on is when it is over the $200 (the max I keep in my pp account)and I have to wait the 2-3 days to tranfer funds from the bank account. OR...if they need a bit more I will simply send an echeck, it is still 2-3 days but then the seller at least has a bit of confirmation that you as a buyer are making an effort. I guess that my be why more expensive reps don't sell as fast, it takes more effort to get the cash "portable" sometimes.
  25. Well actually now the dial is the least of my problems. My replacemnt case won't take this hand stack as it is too tall. At least I found this before it smacked the date mag and knocked off the ar coating as I think it is pretty fragile on reps. The second hand on top increases the stack heigth more than you would think. I guess I can always get one of the 29 (as they are the same case) and transfer the crystal and jimmy fu crown gaurd to it. Thanks all the same for the help. Maybe I will think of a project to use it with, who knows!
