  1. Well, it definitely has AR coating according to those pics. That is friggin great news.
  2. Now that they have com eup with a reliable asian 7750 it only seems the next step to creat one with the seconds at 6 versus the bastardized version used in so many watches. This is a GREAT looking watch!

    ...

For some reason, this godzirra watch is growing on me after the work done. Pics don't do it justice in my opinion. Well.....at least MY pics.
  4. I don't care. I will still take one, engraving or no. I think there is a lzse engraving service that can do it for me. They have done similiar things for me ion the past but DAMN it is expensive. And I was jsut happy I got the Inge and now you have to come out with THIS?!
  5. I have my beast on today! Just got it back today after being gone for: Movement Cleaning True AR coating (none of this "light AR" crap the dealers try and pull) installed on the crystal and Bezel removed and a nice dot of aircraft epoxy on the back of each marker. (I don't know if it is needed but I figured while it was apart go ahead and have everything done. I am REALLY happy with the quality of Jos's Slytech and it can't be beat for the price!!! It has it's flaws but with a few mods it turns into a BAD-ASS watch!
  6. No, it took them a week to install, BUT it is a hard and durable coating!
  7. I have gotten mine done at the LARGE (i.e. n store lab) Lenscrafters in the mall for $70 plus tax.
  8. Try a tiny screw too. I lost the same piece. I went ang dug through my watch bits until I found and old , junked movment. I then took out an appropriate size screw, filed the head to an angled point, and installed it threaded side down. It works better than the original piece with a smoother click. Beats me why though. edited because my spelling is worse than usual after a few cocktails
  9. Actually all the American astronauts wore two watches into space. Each set to mission time and then greenwich time for the 2nd watch. They were each issued 2 Speedmasters. Many wore other watches along side their speedmasters, these included a GMT and a Bulova Astronaut. EVERY astronaut wore a speedmaster. Some just backed it up with something else. The omega is considered the first watch in "OUTER" space. It is splitting hairs but it was the first watch to actually break earths gravity and therfore the first to be in SPACE and not just in the outer atmospheric well. It just boils down to how each manufacturer will define the history to benefit them. All the facts can be looked at in different angles.
  10. thanks Zig! That answers my question completely!
  11. Hey Rob, is this a gear assembly that can be transfered to a swiss 7750 movement? Or is it built into the asian movement?
  12. That is a good idea with the spray, I will try that. I use a water base paint and that solves the fast drying problem when I use a brush though.
  13. I have found black marker tend to either a purplish hue color or be a git glossy. The other I have used is a blak grease type map pencil. It work great on tiny nicks.
  14. Testors 1370 flat black acrylic model paint and #0 brush. I thin it a bit with a tiny tiny amount of water and then apply as needed. If it a large scrape you will have to let it dry a bit and then use the brush in a light tapping motion to apply the grainy texture.
  15. BTW finding a swiss 7750 movement with this layout has been a ROYAL [censored] as I still have not had any luck!
  16. Ok I wil go through it step by step what I did 1. I hit the chono function and let it run for a few seconds 2. I stopped the chrono 3. I RESET the chrono 4. I attached the large second hands 5. I let the chrono run for 15 seconds 6. I Stop the chrono 7. Hands only resets back about 5 seconds and does this no matter how long I let it run. NOW HERE IS WHAT I FOUND AFTER GOING OVER AND OVER THE MOVEMENT! You all will never guess. My large seconds hand is LOOSE. A tiny tiny bit of glue and the problem is solved. YEAH ME!
  17. Thanks zig but my dumb-ass wasn't clear in the problem. Its the large second hand only resets back about 5 min.
  18. THAT is whoi will probably use nex time then. Then maybe I would have an INGE on my wrist by now.
  19. The man has got a point. It is kind of like taking your replica 1953 Prosce speedster down to the vintage car dealer who sell the real thing. They are going to scoff at you...................even if it isn't to your face
  20. Ok....... So I took apart an IWC portuguese apart to remove the crystal I got it all back together, Put it to the corner of my desk, , Then when pick up my polishing cloth It snagged the large seconds hand and jerked it around the dial. NOW it won't reset back to zero. It runs just fine but only resets about a quarter of the way around. OH GREAT WATCH SMITHS -O- THE BOARD>>>>>>>>>HOW CAN I REPAIR THIS!?!?!?!
  21. BTW The Zigmeister. Is moddifying the hands to fit a swiss 7750 possible? Is this something you woudl be interested in when you get time again. You did KICK ASS work on my 7753 188 and I wouldn't trust my valjoux movements to anyone else!
  22. Went and bought 35mm of pvc pipe just the size of the bezel and just pressed the crystal out with my press. Thanks The Zigmeister, had it off and done in about 10 mins after readin your post. THANKS!!!!!
