  1. \ Uh ....I would like to know what is meant by that as well.
  2. I don't have a problem with it all. But. if you don't want them to sell them fine with me as it is doubtfull I would purchase one. However, there are many people out there like me that DO in fact carry a pocket knife around with them everyday. You may see it as a weapon but I see it as a tool like a pen or a watch. It is one more item that is removed from my desk each morning and put in the pants pocket opposit my wallet. Lets face it, it is easier to pick up an item off the street and use it as a weapon to bludgeon some one as it is to order a knife of the web. It hink if you want them to stop selling, being a afraid of getting stabbed is not a good reason. I doubt the type of person who stabs some one frequents this stype of board. If you want them to stop selling them because they do not fit the "theme" of the board that is another reason entirely. But, What if they are "replica" knives such as a replica benchmade or Dan Hiben. Would being a replica of an over priced brand make it ok to sell a knife? I am afraid that it is subjects like this where "the noisy wheel gets the grease" in our politically correct society. In other words.....because 3-4 people have a problem with something that 300-400 people DON'T, we get rid of what ever the thing is just to appease the 3-4 people.
  3. How do we reserve one of these Jos?
  4. Crap. Thanks for the heads up Rob. I was giving major thought to pick one of these up.
  5. HHHEEEYYYYY........I dig on that watch! Very lovely project my friend.
  6. I LOVE to mod. Hell if you look at some of the watches I have built (the as-perfect-as-possible PAM 188 7753 or the5218-202A) you will see that I sold them almost immediately after finishing them. ALWAYS sold at a HUGE loss in $$$ over what is cost to build said monsters. It is just coola nd the gang to look at a finished product and know that it is buit RIGHT as well as built by YOU.
  7. Well PHUCK! We will see how this goes when mine comes in.
  8. @ubiquitous and his daytona ..............WOW!
  9. tudor cahnged to the bracelet. Note: For some reason the angle of the pic makes the CG's look WEIRD! But they haven't been modded yet so it is only the angle.
  10. Which is why I purchased my 1966 105.012-66. I agree whole heartedly with this statement EXCEPT that I think the used Omega Seamaster automatic is the best buy for the money out there. This IWC looks to be one of the best reps ever offered from a quality standpoint. This is the reason I am waiting for mine to get here. Then I can give a detailed look to it. But after owning and modding some of the best reps out there AND owning more than a few gens I have some to the conclusion that 98% of the gens are not worth it as a watch purchase that you will make to wear. This IWC inge looks like a great case and point. It is perhaps 90% there as far as quality. Yes, it MAY have a "cheap" movement in it but is a movement that if kept clean, will last just as long as the IWC movement. You can argue this point but ETA's have been proven to easily last 20 years with proper servicing. If you spend a bit of time and money to make sure the movement is serviced, all gaskets are up to speed, and most importantly (from a longevity standpoint) that the grooves that said gaskets fit into in order to seal the case are finished nice and smooth and straight. You will end up spending say at most $600 total worst case scenario and have a watch that looks and acts at minimum 97% like the original. Yes it may have a date font issue but this isn’t glaringly obvious and more over don’t not make a damn bit of difference in the overall appearance ON THE WRIST (yes magnified eleventybillion time on your 24” computer monitor I am sure the date font looks obvious) I for example, I would LOVE to buy a gen vintage 1680 or Tudor sub. But I would be AFRAID to wear it because of its value. The particular history of these watches is neat to read about but doesn’t captivate me. However, since I have been a space-nut since I was a kid the history of the 321.cal Speedmaster DOES interest me so I purchased a gen of THAT watch and had it restored. With reps like this: I get to wear the vintage Rollie products without spending a blasted fortune. SO IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you buy a gen, you are most often buying the legacy and heritage behind that brand vs. buying the watch itself.
  11. Yeah, it is what actually came instead of the white 1680. I like it a lot but still would have like to have the 1680 first (I have already collected the parts) But I think a collector should have them BOTH! Don't you agree?
  12. I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We are starting to build some descent stunts at area trails but damn, NOTHING to the scale of northshore. But we do have some descent gnarly trails and rock gardens with 1 meter of so constant drop offs so a big 130mm-140mm travel trail bike like the Titus can be put to good use. But we have some hell-acious urban assualt if you travle to to downtown and university campus areas! And THAT is where the Disco got used around here mostly. @ the gravity rider You have balls that clank to ride one of those damn boards at the speeds you do downhills. I have some buds over on the coast that live for that sort of game but not enough hills in Tx. That is t3h nutzor I would love to give that a try but all I need is to try and justify one MORE toy in my arsenal.
  13. One of the better sources of information and services on this board. Sorry to see you go but hopeful that you will enjoy life none the less.
  14. When I lived up Bothel washington I used to do a schit-load of freeriding. Possibly the kind of riding I miss the most. I had a Disco Volante that Jan Karpiel welded himself. I miss that bike but it would teh suck in Tx. But I still find it hard not to try and huck off of stuff...... hence the 5 inches of travel on the Titus.
  15. Dude....if you post pics of those I might need some "alone time" afterwards though.
  16. damn nice my friend, damn nice.
  17. I'll take some of that action! Bikes and watches are two of my favorite hobbies. So I decided to post a couple of pics of them together. Here are two that are sitting in my den at the moment.... Titus and BMC goodness What two wheeled beauties do YOU ride.....while wearing a rep maybe?
  18. 1: noob submariner 2: sweepinswiss 3: Hell.......no
  19. Sorry about your loss. Lovely watch!
  20. This one. But as soon as our dealers start offering it (right now they only have the SS model) I will sell it and and buy a rep I don't wear it enough to have the money wrapped up in a genuine.
  21. Or run like hell if you can't deal with it. There are good points and bad points to anykind of relationship. My wife is my best friend...... But she could sure make my life miserable if she wanted to. And in her own words "ignorance is bliss, don't make me miserable by telling me something I really shouldn't know just becuase it eats and YOUR consience" I wasn't sure what she meant but I took it as, "Don't tell me if it is going to [censored] me off" So I don't tell. I wouldn't trade her for anything.
  22. AMEN BRUTHA! And guess what The better looking they are....... and the better in bed they are........ The FASTER you will change. You can bolster your young manhood all you want but you too shall succumb to the wonders of a "hot chick" and you will do it without ever realizing it unitil finally your walking through a mall holding her purse. :Dj/k
