Gentlemen, for a while now I have been watching sales adverts closely, the reason for that is now apparent. It seems to me that since we went to the new format there has been an increase in posts without a tagged photograph. I know the new sales listing is not great, a number of comments have been made including one by me, Admin has heard us, but for the time being this is what we have and we have to make it work. If you can upload one picture, you can upload a tagged picture. For those that don't know the reason, a handwritten tag with username, RWG.cc and the date shows you have possession of the watch. It is a small but I believe useful step in combating scams. If I don't see one I will jump on your advert regardless of your standing or any personal friendship. I don't do it because I like my new power or out of any personal animosity, I do it because I believe it is a small protection for the whole community. If you have been here years with a good feedback, then we kind of all know who you are, but to be fair I believe the same expectation should apply to everyone otherwise it can seem like hazing the new guy. On a similar matter as @Mike on a bike has said often, Mods can not be expected to provide total security in trades. The strength of this forum is not in the great team of Mods, nor in rules and regulations. The real strength of this community is in all of us watching each other's backs. If you see an ad and you can hand on heart say you trust the seller or have had good experience of a trade with them, please say so. If you are equally convinced someone is a bad egg, consider a PM to a Mod. Every so often we get someone sign up and try a sneaky back door sale or link to an unknown website. The only way we could stop this is to be a closed group and I don't think anyone wants that. Mods are not able to be online 24/7, if you see something like that tag a Mod in a post and add warning remark. I totally missed one recently, but by the time I had picked it up two members had politely but comprehensively crapped all over it. Thanks guys. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hey Everyone I'm looking for a bit of advice about a watch I received today after purchasing it from a RWG member. He's had 100% feedback so far (12 sales I think), so I reckoned he's be a good guy to deal with. He was selling a B&R BR01-92. Had a few pictures of it, not super high resolution but okay. He said the watch had a few scratches down one side, came with a leather strap and a rubber rep strap. Wanted £114 for it. I did a bit of research, looked at various rep dealers and thought I knew what to look for. I asked the seller for some extra info on the watch, mods, movement, age and water resistance etc. He gave a link to a rep site and said this would have all my answers. It seemed reasonable to assume that this was where the watch originally came from. Everything seemd to check out so I paid (Paypal gift) and the watch turned up today. First, the rubber strap was split so badly it was unwearable. Two massive (almost halfway across) splits across the strap. Second, the hex screws were laser etched on the back, not real screws. This is not a problem in itself, but he originally directed me to Perfect Clones selling a different rep, and insinuated that this was the watch I was buying. That's just plain dishonest. Thirdly, when the crown is pulled out to adjust the time the dial shifts a couple of millimetres in the direction of the pull. Then when pushing back in, it does the same. It seems the internal workings of the watch are loose. Does this seem normal? Am I expecting too much here? Shouldn't that be mentioned in the listing? When I messaged him about these issues, he said the watch was fine when he sent it. He admitted that the link he sent was wrong, but is now implying that I have tampered with the watch. I asked for either a refund, or a partial refund once I had someone look at repairing the crown/dial movement. He refused both, claiming that I have a faulty watch, and I'm trying to swap/scam him. I obviously have very little feedback cause I've only been a member for a few weeks, but I feel like I've been mugged. I'm not new to watch ownership, I have some very nice genuine pieces (Rolex, Omega, Tudor), but really like the idea of test driving my next gen purchase by buying and wearing a few replicas. But this experience, and the beligerence of the seller has put me right off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have records of our pm conversations and photos his sale listing, and the watch I received. Thanks

Received my latest order. Two "cheapies" from WI. They may be cheap but my god, the quality in these is silly for the price. A complete no brainer for any watches you're not quite sure about! Omega 007 50 years is $100 Omega Orange PO is $150 Onto some (admittedly poor) pics:- (these are quick snaps taken with my little camera on my lap - they look a lot better than this in real life)
