kramerica2
Hey all, been looking to expand my watch collection, and I set my eyes on the Aquatimer. In the Rep world, I'm very cheap, and not willing to spend more than 150$ on a watch (I did spend more than 1000$ on a gen). Is there any decent Aquatimer at that price or lower? And a general question, I can now spot the flaws on any Omega rep, but as a total noob to IWC watches I know nothing about the Aquatimers, could someone point out the easy tells than you can spot a fake by? Thanks a lot.. Edited June 29, 2009 by kramerica2

Toadtorrent
The easy tells for most are that a chrono at that price will either be quartz which will have likely (but not necessarily) tighter subdial spacing (closer together subdials) with the seconds hand moving like a quartz watch (not smooth sweeping). An Asian 21j with working chronos will have 2 subdials with "60" counters or will have the wrong subdial printing because the a21j doesn't operate like an a7750 movement. Some of them are still fine though. I would recommend going for a non-chrono if you can for that money as there are some decent higher end reps at that price in the non-chrono variety than chrono reps at that price. kramerica2
Thank you both for the reply. I never said I want a chrono, I'm very aware to the fact that a working chrono raises the price quite a lot. I've seen some very nice Aquatimers without chrono. Could you recommend a dealer the keeps those REPs? even better maybe a specific watch from a specific dealer? Thanks again..
