takashi Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 The general consensus are most, if not all, high beat Asian 7750 comes without regulator. The one that we saw on Chopard MM GTXL Chrono or Concord is actually Valgranges look a like movement with regulator and big datewheel. The AP with running second at 12 also has this regulator on the movement. However, I have not seen any high beat Asian 7750 with regulator until just recently. Here are some pictures I took for reference.
coolfire Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Wow.. Is this from your 3717 which i was admiring on Saturday, mate?
takashi Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 Nope Coolfire, this watch does not belong to me, this one has slipped daywheel (usual problem) and is on repair. On mine lies an ETA7750

Toadtorrent Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 That's interesting. With the new ETA style rotor bearing assembly, it will be harder to immediately tell the difference between Asian vs. Swiss it seems. What are the most obvious tells??
takashi Posted July 28, 2009 Author Report Posted July 28, 2009 Look out for overal parts quality and the finishing on the whole movement. Swiss still has the upper hand. Anyway, the balance stud looks differently in most Swiss ETA7750 too. As for the rotor, this looks like an older 17j ETA7750 model. The newer one comes with a different rotor bearing.
