I messed up: changed date at 1 o'clock on A7750, fix?

I thought this would never happen to me. I will always remember to change the date at 6 o'clock! guess not...

Anyway, I've inspected the keyless from the dial side and it seems ok. Also, The Zigmeister said in this thread that until the date clicks over at midnight by itself (which it does) the keyless is fine.

I removed the cover over the datechange gear and noticed the gear doesn't engage into the clutch when pulling the stem in the 2nd position. The gear doesn't move while turning the crown. Nothing. Does this mean the keyless has gotten messed up after all and I need to take the whole movement apart to fix it?
