charmquark Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 I've grown to hate verified by VISA. Almost every online shop which takes credit cards requires it. The VbV page never has any bank branding so would be easy to spoof. The password can be reset any time and doesn't make it harder to enter a fraudulent charge. The conditions of VbV are that YOU rather than VISA are responsible for the security (and take the cost of any misuse). It's just a scam by Visa to move all the risk from themselves to the customer.
