It's a beautiful piece, but I've never been completely drawn to this watch. The Minerva movement seemed random. What's the connection again?

Well, Panerai is pretty famous for using other company's movements - Rolex, Angelus, JLC, Zenith, etc. Also, Minerva is owned by Richemont, as well. I'm sure that plays a big part. ;)
