Help please

I have a word file that i made a banner to be printed 3m x 1m but the printers need it as a tiff file, i managed to make it a giff but the quality was crap, 5mb plus in word to 700kb as giff, i need to create a high quality tiff, i dont have corel draw ect can any one help,

Andy, I can fix it tonight when I'm on the right computer, if that's fast enough (and if no one else has responded/already taken care of it).
