simzger
hello! i could get my hands on a gen iwc big pilot 5002 dial. thus, i am thinking about a gen dial swap. now i am wondering...: - did anyone of you ever do that? - has anyone ever heard of someone doing that? - is it easy? one thing i noticed is that the gen dial has a little metal stick coming out at the back of the dial (or even two?). and the gen dial is pretty thick. so i am really wondering whether this would work. thanks simzger
unfertiger
Welcome, there are two Members who I know can do this service. Sander an Vac. Sander has modded my 5002 and it is beautiful. He has swapped the dial, relumed the hands and modded the datewheel with an additional plate. Superb job! The feet of the gen dial have to be cutted away because the position doesn't fit to the rep movement. Just have to get on Chief's next AR Run :-) Best regards Unfertiger
Sparty
Can you get your hands on a 5004 dial? That would be even better.

simzger
ok now that i know that i would need to cut off the metal stick, my other question is: what about the thickness of the gen / rep dial? i have one of joshes BP 5002 which came with the raised dateheel. it seems the gen dial is so thick, maybe the datewheel will maybe even have to be lowered again? can anyone comment? i would love to do that modification. best simzger
