concor2
I just found out about the replica market last week and have been reading ever since. This is an incredible forum by the way! I didn't know there was so much to know about watches! I looked at 2368 watches to be exact during the past days, every single one on timeshops.net in the 100-200 dollar market Anyway, after selecting about 10 watches I made my choice and fell in love with this Tag: TG6382 - Tag Heuer Carrera White Dial SS - JAPAN OS Chronograph MOVEMENT: JAPAN OS CHRONOGRAPH CASE DIAMETER: 40MM THICKNESS: 13mm DIAL COLOR: WHITE CASE MATERIAL: STAINLESS STEEL 316L BRACELET: STAINLESS STEEL 316L FRONT GLASS: MINERAL CRYSTAL OTHER: WATER RESISTANT They ask 108 dollar for it, but they have a deduct code which makes it go for 88. Being a total noob, I would like to ask a couple questions before I order, hoping someone who knows about watches could please take the time (pun intended) to answer some: - will it break in a week - how much 'off' will this japan os movement be, like 5 minutes a week or 5 a day - will all functions/dials work like they are supposed to - does this mineral crystal glass scratch quickly - could it really be water proof - is there perhaps a better shop to go to I understand I ask a lot, but I really don't know anything about replica's. Thanks in advance guys!
Dudemeister
- will it break in a week Not really, it will probably work for a fairly long time mainly because it's quartz instead of mechanical so there's less that can go wrong - how much 'off' will this japan os movement be, like 5 minutes a week or 5 a day A lot less than a mechanical watch. Probably less than a couple of seconds a day - will all functions/dials work like they are supposed to Depends on the movement, but most "japanese quartz" are based on a Myota S20, so the chronos should work. - does this mineral crystal glass scratch quickly Not really, it's not as resistant as Sapphire, but then again, it's not plastic either. - could it really be water proof doubtful - is there perhaps a better shop to go to Don't know. concor2
Excellent Dudemeister. Thanks for the info! This all sounds pretty great to me! I mean, it's reliable, not that scratchy, the dials work, it's accurate, and well, probably not water proof. I'll take that last thing into account. As for the rest, sounds like a good quality watch that's looking great! Very interesting how far the repmarket is.
concor2
Hey, thanks for the Myota S20 hint Dudemeister. I searched a bit more and fount the Myota movement overview: http://www.citizen.co.jp/miyota_mvt/download/ As the seller mentions the movement is OS or actually 0S, I looked up the 3 eyes clockworks and I think it is a 0S62 movement: http://www.citizen.co.jp/miyota_mvt/download/pdf/spec_0S62.pdf - Am I right? Great information there, very nice to see a manual. I didn´t understand what the hour hand did as I saw it never moving on youtube movies, nor how the tachymetre outer ring worked. So, thank you Dudemeister! You rule. Edited September 29, 2009 by concor2
