Romel
This was the first rep I bought and I love her.I want to pep her up a bit. I am thinking of changing The Asia 7750 to ETA 7750 Would this be a straight change or would I need new hands? I am new to the rep world and need all the help I can get. Any other mods that you would recomend? Thanks
ubiquitous
Hi Romel- If you have the fast beat A7750 (28800bph), then a Swiss ETA swap will likely require that the subsidiary hands need to be reduced at the tubes, and the stopwatch center seconds hand will need to be broached. If you have an older slow beat (21600bph), the hands may be a direct fit. Difficult to say until you've got it stripped down and can measure the pinions. Dial and physical fit of the movement should be painless otherwise. Hope this helps...
Romel
Hi Ubi, It is the fast beat 28800.I know that much. Is this normally a pretty straight forward modificatio for an accomplished watchmaker?
ubiquitous
Well, I would definitely ask any potential watchmakers that you would possibly farm this out to what their experience is with broaching/staking hands. Your decision should be based on your comfort level with said watchmaker as well as their confidence in being able to perform this task
