Keyless Works / Stem / Asian 7750

Removed a movement out of a 7750 watch last night, something I have done before but am not an expert on.

Can't seem to get the stem back in now that I am putting it back together.

Seems to go in easily with the small button pushed or not, but the stem is not operating properly. Instead of winding to tighten it turns the date for example, even though the stem will not pull out.

Watch movement wheel starts going once I insert the stem, which is theory is a good sign?

I know the stem is the correct length cuase it worked before I removed it, just want to know if there is a tell if I messed up something, or if I should just keep playing with position when reinserting the stem?

The couple of other times I did this on other watches the stem going back in was pretty basic and never caused any problems.

HELP.

Thanks Toad,

I will give it another go tonight and try with the movement out of the case first.

Watch is a real pain to not have the inner bezel move and keep the front aligned without securing the movement clamps before putting the stem in which complicates matters.

Thanks for the clockwise turning tip, maybe that will get it aligned.
