1655 straight second hand for eta 2836-2

I have a 1655 with an ETA 2836-2 in it. A standard crystal replacement went awry.

Long painful story short, the dial and hands survived a rough encounter with no crystal but the second hand was lost *somewhere*. Have not been able to find it and it's so small I doubt I will.

Finally accepting misfortune, I ordered a standard set of Explorer hands (although the second hand SHOULD be the one with no dot on it, just the white stick). Having never replaced hands before, I put the second hand on, but it seems to have far too short of a center pin to fit into the movement at all. It just sort of sits on there and if I turn the movement over it falls right out.

I'm thinking the hands I got are wrong.

Does anyone know where I could find a white stick seconds hand that would fit properly? If I do find one, how is it installed? Just press-in fit?

Thanks for ANY help.
