As promised a pictorial tuto of my 917 rebuild that I modded the mainplate for in order to fit a 44mm case. I didn't include the pics of oiling the movement as there are quite enough already. Suffice to say if you use the 6497 oiling method along with the same grades of oil (found here, http://www.eta.ch/swisslab/6497/6947.html) you won't go far wrong...;)

I've only done this as a reference for others as this movement is being used more and more for custom builds in the community and there is precious little info out there...

this is great stuff. Thank you very much for posting this. I'm planning on working on a sec at 6 manual project sometime soon. You may have convinced me to choose a HAM instead of the ETA 6498. Thank you!
