More likely is the fact that the cockpit just isn't popular enough to rep. The trend is toward larger watches, and the cockpit is almost lady sized by todays standards. I just haven't made the leap yet to seeing big watches on smaller wrists as being a look I'm comfortable with. My wrist is about 7.125" - just seems like the Cockpit Chrono has better balance and proportion. I guess the good news is that a gen Chrono Cockpit being sold as used is likely to be, in fact, a gen.
