PhilipM Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 A few times now, and spurred on by an advert i just looked at, i have seen reps of auto watches, that when copied, use a quartz movement, and they have "quartz" engraved on them instead of the usual automatic. I've only seen this on the casebacks so far, but i always thought it was odd to go as far as copying the watch down to the gen's name, but owning up to it having a quartz movement. Ok, i'm not calling the cartels "thieves" (although some may regard them as such) but it seem strange to go so far in replicating a watch and then let make a decision to have a giveaway on the back. Is it considered OK to rep a watch, and sell it as a rep, but not to inscribe automatic incase people are misled?
