truckarms Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 (edited) Hi guys, I really need some help, I came home yesterday and found a huge section from the middle of the glass off my fiddy lying beside the watch. I did have a guy from BT in fixing the phone but I dont think he would have smashed it and I cant see how anyone could actually do that sort of damage so I was wondering if it is just a flaw that can some times happen?:cry::cry::cry::cry: The next thing is how do I get it repaired, having searched the forum I think I need a press to insert the new glass, but how do I remove the old one? Also as another option is there anyone in the UK willing to do this for me as I love the watch and dont want to scratch it! Obviously I will pay! Thanks in advance Edited September 5, 2006 by truckarms
rmcsherry Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 It's a common problem, Finepics is located in London and is very helpful, I believe he does crystal swaps - maybe try sending him a PM? I've never tried to get a new glass for a Fiddy, but I assume Davisden will be your best bet to source this kind of thing from.
archibald Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 It's a common problem, Finepics is located in London and is very helpful, I believe he does crystal swaps - Get the sapphire from davidsen and have Finepics install it. You're lucky to be nearby--both of my local smiths try to avoid changing (one refuses outright) rep crystals because they apparently break pretty often. I wish someone would post a tutorial so we can swap them ourselves without having to ship them to another country...
truckarms Posted September 5, 2006 Author Report Posted September 5, 2006 Cheers guys, Just in the process of getting the glass from Davidsen, then will pm finepics and take it from there.
Finepics Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 No problem - let me know when you are ready.
