Jewlery & Ring making - anyone help?

i have stone from an old broch of my grandmothers which will never get worn, and i was wondering how easy/hard it might be to turn this nto a ring using a blank?.. doe anyone have any experience doing this or can point me in the right direction to figure out how to do it?..

as you can buy sized blanks (for stone and finger) im thinking it should be a case of buying the right blank, putting the stone in place and folding the legs over to retain?..

if anyone knows anything about doing this or what tools might be required i'd be really greatful of some pointers
