Just forget it! In the end you'll probably do more harm than good. In order to get the insert out without any damage to it you'll need to pop off the entire bezel.

Dents, scuffs and scratches are very common after bezel removal if you've never done it before.

If you love your watch forget it or practice on an old cheap one....

I'll just ask Joe to pop it off when he's servicing and send me the crown and bezel separately for replating...
