slied013 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 I 've bought a DSSD V3 with an updated case from a V5 (as I was told). I want the movement to be replaced by a new gen Swiss ETA. The question now, is which one is better: 2824-2 or the 2836-2? Is there a reliable source for them? Please, your advise will be very welcome!
panerai153 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 I can't say which is the most reliable, but if you look at the mid range genuine watches from 500-2000 USD, almost every one I have owned or read about uses the ETA 2824-2 movement. I don't know of any dive watches from companies like MKII, Ocean 7, Doxa, etc. that use the 2836-2.they all use the 2824-2.Even WM9 is using 2824-2's in the new Seadweller project. Possibly some of the more experienced modders and/or watch makers on our forum could give you better and more accurate information.
