I have to admit I have not been following the new Panerai releases as I did before, but this Mare Nostrum 52mm is quite a big and interestying watch. At $ 36,000 for the gen,

it is a pricy buggah as well. If DSN makes one, I might have to have it.

I think these are some of the worst watches to come out of factory Panerai. I love the simplicity of the original Mares , they are quite the most understated chronographs I've seen, and when I saw this one I thought YIPEEEE RepIt RepIt RepIt !!!! then I saw the size seriously WTF ! Stupid to the extreme unwearable by 90% of the population, as for the Rad great engineering witha stunning movement but that dial just doesn't work , its messy and barely readable. WRONG!!

It is a big watch and my wrist is 8" so it works for me. Easy to see how most would shy away. The large size compensates also for the smaller print. Panerai has gone out of the box probably due to crticism that all their watches look alike. Sometimes you cannot win no matter what.

I look forward to seeing a wristie from you if they rep it, thing is the movement doesn't even look that different form the venus/segull/lemania manual wind chronograph so it should be an easy build.

As for the Rad and moving away from the same old same old should be commended . But that grid mesh bit at the bottom left does or shows nothing. The subdials are to hard to read, I think its just poorly executed.
