mas6002mi Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Anyone know how to do it? i have been reading of 'mink' oil! what is that and where can i get some!
hackR Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 do you mean the sheen of the strap or do you want to slightly distress it?...i used a little clorox/bleach to strip off the sheen on some straps...rub it on slowly to desired finish...be careful and test it out first... my 2 cents...R
mas6002mi Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 i mean't the discoloration on the strap, almost like the 'green' discoloration that happens with some metal statues!!!!!............ it is a well used strap......i actually need to get some shine on it!
Bike Mike Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 PM BlackBard, he might be able to help you out.

Highflyingclive Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I treat all my (non lacquered) straps with Lord Sheraton Leather Balsam. Available in the UK from Tesco. As it says on the lid, "Cleans, Revives, Polishes and Protects". Good stuff. I treat the inside as well as the outside. Sweat from my wrist (on a very hot day in Italy) once ruined a very beautiful pale green croc strap as the brown dye of the lining soaked into the green croc (sob)
Highflyingclive Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 This is what can happen if you don't waterproof the inside of your strap...
mas6002mi Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 very interesting...............i think i will give it a try. thanks.
