vlydog
When using a LH crown guard, what is the proper dish depth that a crown should have? I don't want to have to shave down the end of the lever to achieve the proper fit.
PeteM
Depends on the LH Cg. He had a few variations. Plus if its off one of his watches then its different again. His virgin ones came with the lever having a point so it could be shaped for the crown it was going on. I dont know with his current ones. Also the LH may have some history of being slightly modded by the owner at the time. Not sure which yours falls in. I have put LHs CG from one of his watches straight on a gen crown with no modding but of course it also depends on the position of the crown to the case. OPcrown had a run of crowns based on the Palps/Gens but with the choice of depths with gen thickness and teeth He suggested the LH VCG and gen were better on his shallower dish with all the others going on the deeper dish. As I recall it was 0.85 and 0.55 respectively But I am sure others here will know better than me
