Off the top of my head, no. Most 6497 stems are tap 6; Rolex uses tap 10 crowns and stems.

You could, in theory take a 6497 stem and have it turned down and threaded to fit a tap 10 crown however.

tried re-threading and stems seem to break on me.

That's because the stems are hardened and annealed. But it can be done; I've had 6497 stems turned down by Zigmeister to fit gen Panerai auto crowns; he does do it on a lathe, however...
