difference GMT Master II and Explorer II bracelet

Maybe the dumbest question for today but is there a difference between

between an Explorer II and a GMT Master II bracelet ??

According to the bracelet chart, they both use 78360. GMT II uses 501 endlinks and Exp II uses 501b.

I wonder if there is a difference in lug profiles in the hollow end link versions that necessitates 2 different endlinks.
