Chanel J12 quarts not working properly help please!

Hello,

I have recently bought a Chanel J12 with a quarts movement and the seconds hand sort of gets stuck and moves back and forward then finally stops moving altogether.

Any ideas what this could be and how i could fix it?

Sounds like the battery is dead. Pop in a new one and see if that corrects it...
