Has anyone fit Gen 3714 hands to a rep movement

I have a sec at 6 killed movement that was serviced by rob and purchased some gen hands which the seller says will ft on rep movement with the right watch repair guy. The local guy here says no.

Is this possible?

IIRC, the hands need to be either broached or reduced depending on which hands. The main hour and minute hands should be a direct fit, but it's the center seconds and subdial hands that need to be tinkered with.

but are you sure you want to change some gen hands to fit a rep movement? or is it for your DLC coated mechanism?

I would agree with that; I would probably find a gen movement to go with those gen hands. Better match and no modification necessary... (so if you ever want to resell, you can).

Broaching/reducing the small tubes for the center seconds and subsidiary hands is no easy task as it requires a lot of precision to get them right. You don't want hands slipping or falling off the pinions.

I'd definitely suggest Zig or Vac as I know they've done this job many times before...

Vac is of course way too busy, oh well. Zig is impossible to even get by email these days.

I guess I should have researched it a little more before i bought them although the person I bought it from said it was a piece of cake and his watchmaker does it all the time

See if you can get on someone's schedule book. For gen hands, you'll definitely want to have these done right!

I know Domi can do these, but he's in the EU...
