pdnb
HI All- Here is a simple pictural comparison between the Jacob caseback vs the caseback you get with DSN's 27 series. First off, Engravings: jacob has very nice and smooth engravings, while the dsn looks ok, perhaps it is etched? caseback: i was told that jacob's blanks are from DSN's 24 subs. They are much thicker than what came with DSN 27.. The jacob is 5mm thick from the center, the DSN 27 cb is only 3.5mm. Also the jacob CB has a nice finish and nice tapered bezel, while the DSN 27 has a very flat bezel Accuracy: we need to compare to a gen...i wont post since I don't have one, but you can find them on the web Thanks! hope this helps in your decision! Both back to back comparison(jacob on right) close up on jacob close up on dsn 27 Side view of 27a: now the CB sits outside the Case, in the original DSN cb, the CB sits flush with the CB Thickness comparison Installed frontside with palp crown
briank996
why does the jackob CB have its serial number swirled out but the genuine CB serial is visible?
babola
why does the jackob CB have its serial number swirled out but the genuine CB serial is visible? It ain't genuine, it's DSN stock 27A CB Pdnb, mate that Jakob CB looks much better than DSN, it's still a little wrong for the 27/28 model though as it appears that he used this time a raised Pam-auto CBs which come with DSN 24/25 Submersibles. That said, it's probably the closest 27/28 PR rep caseback available these days, excluding old-school and EL ones. The next run from Jakob looks very promising, with the correct 1:1 CB replication, height, thickness, weight, perlage finish amd 'swiss made' etching inside the CB as per gen, is also rumored. Can't wait to see that one materialize
PAMman
I have obviously been out of the loop for a while but can anyone confirm which casebacks are available from Jacob, and contact details please?

Watchmeister
Jakob's case backs have great engraving. As I understand it he is ramping up production of the case back itself. And given that the originals had thinner case backs this next round should be incredible.
