Breitling Ocean Race Strap Question

I've just received a Breitling Super Avenger White Batons from Josh and need to resize the strap.

I cannot remove from the deployment buckle. There is a little push button that works a little like the Rolex glide lock, for minor changes in wrist size, and a little button you can put to effect the mini resizing.

I need to shorten the strap by a couple of cms but the rubber strap will not come out. When I push the buttonit won't slide fully out. Should it?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

No it doesn't slide right out. There is a spring bar in there you need to release before you cut the rubber.

Slide the micro adjuster all the way out until it stops (about 3mm proud of the clasp) and use your spring bar tool.
