Schaffhausen is in the German speaking area of Switzerland. IWC was the first and only watch producer in North-East Switzerland (the German speaking area). F.A. Jones specifically moved to Switzerland to mass produce and sell low cost watches! IWC was the first watch company to "modernize" watch production by employing assembly line techniques.
