ETA 2824 - Need diagnosis

After the addition of a new crown/tube, my 2824 (Octo signed) has stopped functioning normally and I'm hoping that someone here can advise as what to do next. I'm hoping for a quick fix, something that I can do myself.

The movement ticks and runs as usual, but the hour hand will not go beyond the 6 position, nor the 12 when setting counter-clockwise with the crown. I had taken the movement out of the case thinking that the hour hand had come unseated, but quickly realized that it was the hour wheel that seemed to be getting stuck.

During the new crown/tube procedure, I had to shorten the stem a number of times to get it right - did I perhaps mess something up since the stem was a bit too long in the beginning?

I would take the dial off the movement, but (to my dismay) it's glued onto it. Before doing so, what should I be looking for? I've worked on keyless works before, but that's the furthest I've ever gone into servicing a movement. Hopefully this is an easy fix.

Any suggestions are very welcome!
