mariano86 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 yea man im in the same boat as you there is a watchmaker in queens by the Horace Harding Expressway but i have not gone there i got to go and see if he would work on them
fijikid Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 NYC "watchmakers" are more often than not, butchers, who have ZERO appreciation for your watch - especially vintage. Trust me, I know from experience. I wish I could give you a name of a competent, McGuyver-esque NYC watchman, but I can't. And I've been collecting in NYC for 15 years. Let me know when you find him! (or her!).

(or her!). There's a Russian guy, Mike, in a shoe repair store on 2nd. Ave between 71-72 Streets. He has worked on alot of my watches with mostly good results. He does reps including chronos which is hard to find. About $200 to service/fix a rep chrono. Tell him Noel sent you. Good luck, at least he won't screw up your watch crystal/dial. He did once break a Rollie crystal but replaced it.
