Linder Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 For a vintage virgin, was the superdome tropic 39 only used on the DRSD and the non superdome came on the white letter version?
leitztozeiss Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 For a vintage virgin, was the superdome tropic 39 only used on the DRSD and the non superdome came on the white letter version? According to Master Ubi, yes this is true.
Jetsons Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 For a vintage virgin, was the superdome tropic 39 only used on the DRSD and the non superdome came on the white letter version? To confuse matters, many of the original red dials were replaced by rlx during service to the white letter. This is one of the reasons the red dials are so darn scarce. The superdome should be correct for both. J, congras on the superdome. It' as gorgeous crystal but will knock your socks off when installed on your 1665.
Linder Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Superdome being correct for both DRSD and White letter or both DRSD and DRSD with dials replaced with white letter dials?
Linder Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Okay, obviously I'm going to ignore the single red 1665 sea-dweller here as it's so rare there's no hope of ever pulling it off as a gen anyway. Also, I agree, it's impossible to discuss what could be installed on the various models today as any model could have any dial or crystal replaced. So, let's limit the discussion to original crystals. DRSD productions came with a superdome crystal while the white letter 1665 should have come with the flat crystal? Is that correct? Thank you for your help.. this has always confused me but I feel I am soooo close to understanding
