  1. So been a RWG member longtime and have moved to Gens for a while. However my eye fell on the Batman GMT. This is unfortunately out of my gen league. So I have been lurking Andrews (trusty) site as I purchased successfully several times with him in the past. His offerings are so abundant at this moment that he offers over 7 types of Batmans. It sounds logical to go with the most expensive one but is that the best as well. They all seem to have correct handstacks it this stage. He carries DJ, GM, BP and Noob in multiple ways. I prefer the Jubilee bracelet and the ceramic bezel color is the biggest give away. So in short which one has the best bezel and a movement that is of good quality... Any experience here?
  2. Gorgeous! Indeed the dial...It is the only thing I am missing. At least I do have the white panda but took the feet of. Now I have the phong case and a Roamer 726 donor. Where can I source a new white PN dial of good quality. The subdial markers need to reach the edge of the subdial at least. Any ideas? I hear Dung or something?
  3. I ran into this article on internet and thought it would be interesting to share. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/reference-points-the-paul-newman-daytona I just had my Franken DW 6263 with one off creme white dial and Roamer Valjoux 726 bail out on me. It's got stuck winding up. Repair somewhere between 300-500 EUR. Was wondering will it be worth it. Sure is I would say. The watch looks so gorgeous and so many compliments when wearing.... guess I have to bite the bullet.
  4. Worth pinning this one IMHO great tx
  5. Sorry to be ignorant. I have been on this forum a while. Been of for a while too to pursue gens. But now I found that blowing a hole in budgets and getting distrust on Rollie's being gen might as well make me wear tribute ones haha. Being able to make more choices in daily wear is a big plus. Recently bought the deepsea blue. Great but bulky. Hence I am looking for the GMT BLNR. I like black and blue. However I noticed trusted dealer carry many different ones. Simply don't see the difference only movements. The best is still the wrong handstack 2836 right? Any thing like Noob or other factories differences? Has anybody have a list of minuses and pluses of versions? It can make a big difference. For example I have the IWC top gun V1 with great AR and a friend v2. Mine looks far better in general. Minor things that only geeks like us know but the AR blows it right away. What at about the ceramic Gmt blnr
  6. I have a v1 topgun. Looks very convincing in a side by side. I did put a 300 eur swiss 7750 in it however. Accurate watch.
  7. My 6263, Gen 1675, 1665 and 1665 Comex with gen 1570 movement
  8. Wanting to know where to service a gen 1570 rolex caliber

  9. Anybody besides Concepta can deliver Swiss Valjoux handsets for the Top Gun. They are slightly different on the Swiss then on the Asian as we all know. I can bore them and pinch the small hands but they always end up hurt some way. Or does anybody have good tips how to adjust the Asian hands. Thanks!
  10. I always smile on days with a three in them. The ubi datewheel was a crime to install but once in place ;-) link://http://twitpic.com/2u90s1
  11. Question, How can one broach the center second hand from an Asian 7750 which is 0,20 to fit the gen swiss 7750 which is 0,25. I want to do a transplant but this is keeping me. The Top Gun second hand gen will be impossible to find. Please advise.
  12. Yep Schaap en Citroen and Diamond Center are the places.
  13. Respect! This is the fun of our hobby... the 'outside' world will never notice or have the slightest idea what you have just achieved... We all do!
  14. Somebody pointed me towards the laboratory in Swiss where they do only one thing. They apply 3 high end types of AR coatings and top coatings on the sapphire crystals of the worlds best watch manufacturers. They are OEM partner for Rolex, IWC, Breitling, Patek and Ulysee a.o. I decided to call and ask possibilities telling them I have a starting watch company which is partly true (www.tngwatches.com). They have a revolutionary coating they use which is called durAR and is total colorless instead of blue and much harder and resistant to most chemicals! It passes all functional military specs easily according to the research laborant I spoke to. In batches of 15 crystals it will run 45 eur per chrystal excluding shipping. I am going to get 3 samples done with my crystals which is expensive but might be worthwhile. When finished I will post on the forum the pictures. I am gauging interest and am thinking to offer this service in Europe for the forum? Are there members interested in Europe? Or Worldwide maybe?
  15. The genuine Topgun is quite small and there are smaller montbrilliants 40. I actually had one on my wrist the weekend and thought is was to small.
  16. Does anybody have a thrustworthy address where I could get a vintage 7750 serviced in a proper way. Rob are you still providing this service. Please PM. How can you be reached? If not then do you have any other suggestions. In the Netherlands there doesn't seem to be a single skilled watchsmith that I think can do it properly. Cheers.
  17. Interesting especially the watch. Could a gen ETA 7750 be fit in easily?
  18. This is the only watch that you should buy GEN. Affordable and priceless.
  19. There are companies in Germany that retouch gen dials. Not cheap and it needs to be gen... Give it a shot...
  20. Rolex001 is right. It is the first Double Red dial on which the lettering of the first two lines tended to fade to pink (production error). They are worth major bucks. On this dial they didn't even bother paininting it pink. The 6 and 9 markers are a bit long anyway. Overall the dial looks good... much better than the standard MBW...
  21. Guys, It's been a while since I posted but the major telltale on the caseback used to be the dot between two words. If it aligns between the upper stripe of the E and the letter opposite it was gen... now it looks like it has been fixed. A lot of sanding and deepeening with the dremmel works to make it look more gen but the dot was the major problem... BTW Flex you are lying yours is gen!
  22. Will he sell them seperately... I am in for two
  23. He guys that is pretty close... relatively... to Amsterdam... I might join too... where is the fun exactly!
  24. The single red is so scarce that even the Rolex WIS fanatics have barely handled gen ones. You could try to make it close to the gen but it is highly unlikely you will see someone actually ever wearing a gen one. But it is a nice tribute watch that shows you are a Rolex enthousiast. The one you show looks exactly like the one I had but with the recent GW caseback.... It is MBW (as we call it).
  25. Looks very convincing... nice I like the jubilee. Looks very convincing... nice I like the jubilee. Try trimming down the bezel a bit.... Check my gen.
